1967/12/27. A very wet, windy and cold Wigan Wallgate station looking west as an unidentified Class 25 heads north from Wigan North Western station with a train of mineral wagons. Below the embankment a Class 37 is lurking in the gloom. Wednesday 27th December 1967.

1967/08/23, 7. In the yard at Grassington station was this former Midland Railway signalbox, presumably brought in from elsewhere, standing on a temporary base. It was in use as the HQ of the local Craven Cave Rescue organisation, complete with what looks like a flashing blue light in place of one of the finials on the roof! Painted green, the 'box matches the lovely old station lamp alongside. Wednesday 23rd August 1967.Previous | Next1968/04/06, 1. From the Geoff Plumb Collection of original slides. LCGB
